Autumn is upon us her in the north. The days are growing shorter. The deciduous trees are displaying their colours. Soon they will be bare. At the end of the month we turn the clocks back. Not my favorite month. He are a few images I took today to give you an idea of what the middle of October is like here.

Path through woods near my home

A view from my local wood

Local art

By the local lake

Finally I found a touch of red

Last Sunday 23rd September day and night were of equal length. That was the Autumnal Equinox.

Autumn’s colours are becoming pronounced. The days are getting noticeably shorter. Winter approaches here in the northern hemisphere.

Cuckoo song
Summer is icumen in,

Groweth sed, and bloweth med,
And springeth the winde nu—
Sing cuccu !
Awe bleteth after lamb,

Bulluc sterteth, bucke verteth,
Murie sing cuccu !
Cuccu, cuccu, well singes thu cuccu;

Sing cuccu, nu, sing cuccu,
Sing cuccu, sing cuccu, nu !

One of my favorite months because:
- nature has woken up
- the whole of summer is in front of us
- May has lots of free days here
- summer holidays are soon upon us
Need I say more?
